We are only a few hours into Week 14 and there are teams that are already sitting on 1-2k TA again! I think it is the games, mainly BioShock Infinite and Gears of War, that still give huge points but will slowly drop soon.
What exactly happened this week?
We finished in 12th with 5,010 GS gaining us 6,959 TA. We hardly beat the Achieve Mentors this time and teams above us were only slightly better except for Pure Escalation: the period's top team scored a whopping 11,509 TA, finishing almost 2k TA in front of 2nd place Blue's Bona Fide Badasses.
We also managed to cross 700k team TA which is the first team milestone I noticed.
Our top player was tecian who got us 3,604 TA, nice going!
It seems teams are more balanced now with each team member scoring good points and elimination scores (on both leaderboards) increasing.
So why is all this? Do teams realise they need to get stronger? Is it all just coincidence? Or is it the current releases (from Tomb Raider to BioShock) that make people play and get lots of points every week(end) when they play through those games?
We will probably know soon.
On the technical side, TA changed its design and now looks a little more modern (it's been a few years after all), adopting a few of Microsoft's basic ideas. Due to the re-design our own stats tracker is a little off now, not tracking completion and ratio. I will try to fix it soon.
